Life can be Rough, but your lips shouldn't be.

Do you ever wonder why your lips get so dry? Well, lips unlike the rest of your body don’t have oil glands. The only thing that can keep them hydrated is your saliva, and that is just not enough. Lips don’t have a direct source of moisture. This is why it’s so essential you wear a lip balm year round, but especially in the winter months. Low temperatures, and heaters tend to dry out your skin the most. Lips usually get the most chapped and we all know how awful that can feel and look. The best way to prevent lips from drying is having a great lip balm on hand. Here are some of my favorites. They all work but I prefer each for different reasons and I’ll explain why.

Smith Rosebud salve & Strawberry Lip Balm- The Rose bud salve I can’t live without. It’s by far my favorite lip balm and it smells like roses. I usually don’t t carry it around with me because of the jar presentation, it can get messy so I leave it at home. This salve is the lip balm I put on my lips before bed. Smith's is also part of my skin regimen. I put it on the super dry areas of my face along with my skin care...I tell you it works wonders. The strawberry balm I take with me on the go. It’s more of a gloss look and application and it’s smells like strawberries... I mean yum! www.urbanoutfitters.com

Bag Balm- This a natural lip balm that will cure the most chapped of skin. I use this like the rose salve on the driest of days. I can use this on my lips, face, elbows, knees it will smooth out skin instantly . The smell is not my favorite it’s medicinie, but I guess that’s a sign of how good it is, right? www.urbanoutfitters.com

Chanel Rouge Coco Baume- I love the sleek packaging of this. I love how smooth it makes my lips, and it’s super hydrating. I love to prep my lips for lipstick with this. I carry this lip balm with me in my bag. I love the easy application and how it looks and feels. www.chanel.com

Gucci All over face and lip gloss- This is super comfortable and it makes my lips super glossy. I like to use this to mix into other lipsticks to add shine and make them more comfortable. This is great when wanting to customize drye'r formulas to taste. www.gucci.com

Dior Lip Glow Oil- This oil is like a lip stain. It’s so pretty on it gives your lips the prettiest shade and it feels amazing. You can get this in a variety of shades. It’s a great option for low maintenance lipstick. The oil formula keeps your lips so smooth and it smells great! www.dior.com

Dior Lip Sugar Scrub- This is a lip balm with sugar grains that exfoliate the lip but then dissolves into a moisturizing lip balm. This comes in handy when you have dry skin on your lips, it exfoliates dry skin quickly with no rinse necessary. www.dior.com

Wander Lip Retreat- I got this as a sampler, and grew to love it. It’s also an oil but it’s creamy texture. It has some color to it and makes your lips look and feel so good. www.wanderbeauty.com

As you can see they all serve a different purpose. Lip balm is that item we all need by our side. I'm that sucker in line ready to check out grabbing the lip balm on the counter top as an add on. I always make use of them. I hope you make use of these tips, especially during these coming months. Enjoy your Winter with the softest and most hydrated lips ever!

Love,

Cyndi
